I have been waiting to post this blog for a little while but I tend to always be in the middle of a project so here it is. Jessica and Travis tied the knot! It was a fairly cloudy day but the weather was spot on for such an occasion and the skies opened up just enough. The day started in downtown Fort Wayne as I met Jessica and her bridal party for hair and make up and some MTV. Then off to the church on the east side of Fort Wayne for their ceremony. I know I mentioned before that Ive known Travis for about 15 years now so the vibe was pretty laid back and I knew I wanted to do some new things with this being my first wedding of 2014. Being a full time architectural photographer now I like to save myself from getting too burnt out on shooting...well just a bit. Ideas are always bouncing around in my brain in a new location. I always try to one-up myself when I can.
The ceremony went off without a hitch and I really did appreciate the fact that the pastor had Jessica and Travis face the crowd, it was a nice change of pace compared some the other weddings Ive shot, but it gives everyone an opportunity to see them and not their backs for 30 minutes. After the family formals the wedding party along with myself piled into a limo and cruised around Fort Wayne, while the playlist Travis chose to play may have been a tad questionable(haha Snoop Dogg really gets that kid happy) it lead us into Lakeside Park for a few formals and then off to the reception at the History Center which was the original City/County building in Fort Wayne. Having shot a wedding there 3 years prior I was excited to go back. The environment and setting is something I really enjoy. To think of all the Men and Woman before me walked those halls, used the jail in the basement etc. Just rad!
Good times were had all around and I wouldnt hesitate to do it again. I have to thank Jenna Brown for being an on point assistant and capturing some rad moments that I other wise wouldnt have been able to give the time and space. Ali(the video person) was a big help as well but lastly Im happy and thankful for Jessica and Travis and I wish them both the best road ahead as they move forward into the next chapter of their lives. Thank you for reading and enjoy!
